Fortes School Wayfinding Project- Transforming navigation for educational spaces

At Dezigntechnic, we understand the importance of functional wayfinding in educational institutions, especially for parents, freshmen and external visitors. Recognising the need for clear navigation, we provided a customised wayfinding solution for Sunmarke Fortes School. Our approach blended digital technology with aesthetics and functionality, simplifying pathfinding across school premises.Prominent signage was installed at key junctures throughout the campus with a focus on areas open to visitors. Universally recognised pictograms indicating restrooms, cafeterias, and exits, were strategically positioned in common areas to help visitors locate amenities easily. Consistent typography and colour scheme ensured a smooth journey for parents and anyone unfamiliar with the layout of the school. To promote a sense of community while providing essential navigation cues for staff and students, we used subtle and discreet pictograms in common areas. Our signages featured interchangeable panels to easily accommodate the dynamic educational environment of the school where information can be frequently updated.Dezigntechnic addressed the uniqueness of the school campus, tailoring the wayfinding to specific challenges and requirements. Colours and design patterns were used to distinguish between different school zones. Playful pictograms with customized kid-friendly designs incorporated the elements of excitement and engagement. For outdoor spaces like pool and parking, we used the latest signage technology featuring aluminium light boxes with top translucent acrylic sheets layered with crisp digital graphics. Dezigntechnic’s approach ensured that the Sunmarke School spaces were welcoming and navigable for every visitor.
